Let's get going!

The Basics

1. The Lazy Magician Palm

OK, now that you have learned your first trick, its time to learn the first move that all other tricks are based on.  Start with the easier “Slide” Palm technique, then move to the “Classic” Palm. The video demonstrates both. Practice as much as you want. It’s fun! Do it a lot! The more often you perform these tricks, the quicker you’ll feel comfortable with them.

Add some extra technique and “flare” here

Practice in front of a mirror or even with a webcam or video camera on occasion. This will give you the audience’s perspective, showing you how well you’re really performing the trick.

2. The Lazy Magician Wipe

While the Lazy Magician Palm is the cornerstone of all the tricks, the Wipe is what truly amazes audiences. This technique proves that your hands are empty once you make the coin vanish.

Once you’ve perfected the Palm and the Swipe, the rest of the tricks are that much easier!

3. The Lazy Magician Back Palm (advanced move)

While the Back Palm is a tougher move to do, the skill required isn’t even close to the level of dexterity you’d need in traditional sleight of hand. Come back to this one as you feel ready.

It is not really necessary to learn this move right away and is a bit more difficult than the LazyMagician Palm or Wipe. But don't worry, it's not even close to the level of difficulty of the traditional sleight of hand "Back Palm". Recommend you skip this for now and move onto some of the tricks in the next chapter that don't require it, then come back and learn it when your ready to learn some of the advanced tricks. Either way, take a look at the video now.

Other Moves

These are advanced moves that add flare to your tricks.  Come back and learn these once you learn the three basic moves.

Tricks

4. The Lazy Magician Classic Vanish

This trick uses the Lazy Magician Palm and Wipe moves that you mastered in the previous section. This really is the money shot! If you learn no other coin vanish, LEARN THIS ONE! When you get it down, people will think you have been practicing sleight of hand for years.

5. The Lazy Magician Coin Through Hand

Again, this trick uses the Lazy Magician Palm and Wipe moves, but with a slightly different twist at the end. This one is guaranteed to amaze.

6. The Lazy Magician Coin Through Glass

This trick uses the Lazy Magician Palm technique, plus any glass, and a normal (un-gimmicked) coin. Doing this trick also provides you with great practice for performing other coin tricks that use props, such as coin shells, cards, etc.

7. The Lazy Magician Which Hand Bar Bet

This trick uses the Lazy Magician Back Palm. A bit harder to do, like the Back Palm itself, but worth the effort for the fun you’ll have with friends or in bars.

Which Hand Bar Bet extras - make the coin reappear

.

8. The Lazy Magician Half-Dollar to Dime Transport

The scoop hand motion used in this trick is a more advanced technique, but looks cool when you’ve got it down.

9.  Protecting the secret

Have you ever noticed that once you see how a magic trick works, it loses its wow-factor? Don’t let this happen to you. Even though these Lazy Magician Coin Vanish Tricks are easier to master than traditional sleight of hand, practice them until you can execute them with a good deal of ease and comfort. Then, and only then, you are ready to perform! Oh, and no matter how much people beg you to know how you did it—and they will—sssssh. Don’t give away the secret!

Create your own tricks and vanishes

It’s amazing what you can do with a gimmicked coin. Don’t wait until you’ve learned all of the Lazy Magician Tricks to start experimenting on your own. In fact, increased familiarity with the gimmicked coin will only make you better at handling it while doing the Lazy Magician Tricks.

Be creative and have fun!
